手工紙是許多人的智慧、體力及汗水結晶的成果，在手工紙業鼎盛時期，埔里地區四十多家的紙廠為應付大量的訂單，幾乎每家工廠內的師傅在還未天亮就已點燈開始製紙，而且每晚要加班到晚上九點左右，這種情境持續十多年的時間，這段期間辛苦的成果為埔里的經濟奠定一股功不可沒的基礎，也贏得埔里是文化產業重鎮的美譽。
