筊白筍是埔里最大宗的高經濟農作物，在埔里幾乎有水源的地方都能見到栽培的農田，手工紙的生產過程有一種紙是取其廢棄的殼來製成紙槳，民國八十四年間的產業觀光發展，以筊白筍殼的農業廢棄物轉換成可貴的資源為主軸，結合埔里藝文及不同產業發表為「惜福紙」，強調珍惜自然資源及本土纖維開發的重要，筊白筍殼添加在其他纖維製成的紙張有特殊的墨韻效果。
惜福宣，因紙張纖維密度較高，更適合用於電腦輸出印刷。
